AddSearch Recommend

AddSearch Recommend lets you create recommendation widgets that display relevant content or products on your website. Configure these widgets in the AddSearch dashboard and add them to multiple pages, such as your homepage, product pages, or shopping carts, to help visitors discover additional items.

How It Works

AddSearch Recommend improves content discovery by showing visitors recommendations related to the current page. This can increase cross-selling and up-selling opportunities and enhance user engagement.

Setting Up AddSearch Recommend

Configure recommendation widgets by creating Blocks in the AddSearch dashboard. A Block holds the settings for an AddSearch Recommend widget.

You can create two types of Blocks using the Block Wizard:

  • Product Block: Shows items related to the product currently viewed, such as frequently bought together products. Use this to suggest complementary or associated products.

  • Global Block: Displays items across your website, such as the most recently viewed or most clicked items. It can also be configured to show recommendations related to the currently viewed product.

Customize Your Widget

Use the AddSearch Recommend designer to adjust the widget’s appearance and select or create filters that control which recommendations appear to visitors.

Publish and Implement

After configuring your Block, publish it to receive a script snippet. Add this script to your website where you want the recommendation widget to appear.

Example Use Cases

  • E-commerce (Camera Shop): On a DSLR camera page, show recommended accessories like camera bags or tripods.

  • Education (University website): On a course page, recommend related supporting courses filtered by level and display lecturer contacts.

  • Travel (Travel agency website): On hotel booking pages, recommend flights or activities filtered by price range.

  • Media (Music news website): On album review articles, suggest related artist profiles, interviews, or past album reviews filtered by year.

These examples demonstrate how AddSearch Recommend can be adapted to various industries and content types to improve user experience and engagement.
